  What is being done to make this look so good/different?

  These are the intro credits to the show Dexter

  On a few of the shots certain parts look really different. In particular when the egg is bubbling/frying in the frying pan it looks really vivid and different. How can I achieve this effect style?

  I don’t see whatever it is that you’re seeing.

  The first step would be to DEFINE what it is you think is different. “Better” is not good enough– more contrasty? more saturated? “Step-printed”? What, exactly?

  Then you’re on your way.

  Composition. Lighting. Camera image quality. Color grading.

  Amongst other things.
