    Here’s one for ya…

I’m trying to capture SDI from a sony DSR 1500A deck (of course equipped with the SDI card). On my LH system, the video won’t lock up and there’s some weird green lines occasionally appearing across the frame.

NOT SO FAST, BOB!….. I have everything genlocked to house sync.

Now, here’s the weird part….same deck, same tape, same SDI output locks up and digitizes fine on a KONA 2 system in another room.

I’ve been in touch with AJA TS and they’ve replaced the LH board twice. (They’re awesome about that). But the problem will not go away.

BTW, that same LH system that won’t lock up to the SDI of that 1500A deck has no problem with the SDI output of a digibeta machine….

    Any ideas?

What’s your reference set to in the control panel? Have you tried free run or video in (SDI)?

Any menus in the 1500 that could be throwing off your card? Seems to me the card works, but your deck is goofed? Do you have component outs on the deck? Do those work with your LH?

Any chance of swapping the LH with the Kona2 (fat chance I know) but that would tell you something about either the card or perhaps the host computer.

If you have one working system

Send a signal from the one known machine to the other to see if it is still there. I use one Kona card to feed my Kona test system all the time and it is a great way to check to see if the signal are doing what you think they are.
