After installing AJA, not getting a DV output signal via Firewire to DV-Cam
I’m using FCP 5, AJA Kona, SDI. Now I can’t get an output signal to my DV-Cam thru a firewire. Settings seem right, capturing works fine. Can anyone help?

Select the DV-NTSC easy setup which will bypass your Kona card and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the response… It did give me a signal for about 2 seconds, then it cut out. so I’m still stuck. It even does the same thing when using iMovie. I have tried 2 different cameras and 2 different firewire cords. Any other suggestions?

Did you do a simple upgrade to Tiger instead of a fresh install? If so, check this document and it might help.

The G-5 I’m using arrived with Tiger installed on it. I followed the instructions on the link you gave me anyway, but that did not solve the problem either. so strange.

Give me more info. What else is hooked up to your machine & how?

thanks for all the help… turns out that if I used Uncompressed 8-Bit footage with DV-NTSC Easy Setup, the signal goes to the DV Cam, but not if I use regular DV footage. Still seems weird, but at least I got my work done.

sounds like time to trash all prefs and potentially reinstall everything including FCP. Something is definitely wrong there as DV works perfectly normal here on three Kona systems.
