I urge you to contact a VALUE ADDED RESELLER or freelance engineer that you can HIRE to help you.
The ATTO UL5D works very nicely with the MAC Quad, and the AJA Kona LHe is absolutlely compatible with your Macintosh. The HUGE array is a very nice drive array as well.

This will teach you to NEVER buy from a discount house like B+H Photo or Samy’s camera (for example) again. There is an expression – “there ain’t no free lunch”. When you need support, you need to PAY SOMEONE, and your system is not configured correctly. I would be very surprised if your ATTO card is broken, and I would be very surprised if there is anything wrong with your AJA Kona LHe card. Someone just needs to install it correctly for you.

If you are not familiar with downloading drivers from the internet, and reading the manuals to show you where to install the cards inside the MAC Quad computer, then you will need to HIRE SOMEONE to help you.

There is no Apple store in the United States that is qualified to work on ATTO, AJA or HUGE products.

Bob is a bit overzealous here, but he is correct. This is not a home stereo hookup. Find a consultant or a VAR who can set your system up properly and support you in the future. It will cost a few hundred dollars, but it is worth it. I consider myself “smart” but still would rather have someone with more experience than me do the heavy lifting at first.

While I agree with Bob, I have to say there is nothing wrong with buying your equipment from B&H. 75% of my studio is from B&H!! The key here is to know what you’re doing. Do the research…read forums like the COW…and make sure alll of your equipment is under some kind of warranty. I have had no problems calling Medea, Huge, or Atto…or taking my G5 to a local Apple shop for service (AppleCare).

VAR is always nice, but many are running self-built systems.

I totally agree with Ron – B+H is a great company to buy from and they have great prices. But both of you, who are both VERY HARD WORKING GUYS who know exactly how to read a manual, and know exactly how to call AJA or HUGE, or anyone else to get the support you need – REFUSE to reprimand the guy that refuses to read the manual, or call for support, but simply wants to buy the cheapest place he can, (nothing then works), and he says HELP, or just goes to the Apple Store.

There is a growing segement of the market that buys ALL KINDS OF STUFF – not just AJA equipment, but everything (certainly including hi end stereo equipment and home automation equipment), and think that they just plunk down the money, take it out of the box, and it just works. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN – it does not apply to AJA, AVID, or Blackmagic equipment, and it does not happen with Crestron or AMX remote control systems, it does not happen with hi end home theater systems, it does not apply to internet based multi camera home security systems. The world is filled with COMPLEX ELECTRONICS, and it drives me crazy (from Midi musical equipment to the stuff that we do for a living) that some people think that they just go out to the store to buy this stuff, plug it in, and it just works. IT DONT WORK THAT WAY – IT NEVER HAS, AND IT NEVER WILL. The intuitive universe will not exist while any of us are alive.

Sorry for the rant, but SOMEONE HERE has to read the damn manual, even if it’s someone that you hire, becuase you are too busy.

B&H is a VAR for AJA, Blackmagic and AVID and many others. We both sell the equipment alone for those who are skilled at configuring their own systems and we sell Turnkey systems for those who want support from us.
