  • AE previews through Kona LH showing a timecode window on my NTSC monitor

I’m posting this here because I think it may be related to my Kona card.

For the last week or so, my NTSC monitor is showing a timecode box in black on the lower third of the screen during previews. BTW there are no digits in it, just colons and dashes. I’m on a G5 running 10.4.2 and previewing AE 6.5 & 7 to my NTSC monitor via a Kona LH.

Note that this does not show up on my comp window, nor in my renders. I had not messed with my monitor settings at all, and in fact this does not appear when previewing Final Cut.

I have been through the video display settings several times and nothing seems to correct this. It’s not a disaster, it’s just annoying, and I don’t want to look dumb trying to explain it to clients.

NOTE: Last week I was having trouble with Edit to Tape, and the only thing I really messed with were my Kona settings, plus I installed the latest drivers, I think it was 1.2. FWIW.

    Have a wonderful day.

Never mind, in the new drivers there’s a timecode adjustment tab, which I wasn’t familiar with, so now it’s off.

    Have a wonderful day.
