I have footage captured 8 bit uncompressed to the Apple 8 bit codec. I have some shots with white levels that are pretty high but look ok when viewing to the monitor through a Kona 2.

I can adjust the footage with the 3 way color corrector and things are fine. If I move the footage even a pixel, or add an alpha overlay all my whites get clipped, the detail goes away. It’s subtle difference but it is there.

I’ve tried everything, rendering in 10 bit, appying super white settings under sequence settings but with no luck. Is this normal?

Is also happens with filters, even if they aren’t activated. (except 3 way corrector) If I put the brightness/contrast filter on and don’t change anything I still see a change in the whites. The FCP scopes show no change has been made.

    Any suggestions?
