  kona desktop…sound from mac….etc

  Hi

  got a kona lh. using it w final cut pro. but i also want to use it elsewhere. the website said something like “kona desktop lets you use kona lh w other applications” but whats the real deal

  partuicularly i would like to do the following and mayber you can tell me if its supposed to happen:

  use kona tv. (i open a kona compatible and it does not come out of the card)?

  Quicktime player (can sound and pix be mapped to the card)?

  dvd studio pro (maybe when i play the video)?

  or apple dvd player (put the video out to the card)?

  i do get the video desktop ie i can drag stuff over to the ntsc monitor ass if its an extension of my desktop EXCEPT its only 720 x 940. i cant get 720 x 486 as a choice in my apple display settings. i try and set the primary out of the card to 525, but each time i go to the desktop, it jumps back to a 16 x 9 flavor

  i suppose i could live with everything else, but is there any way to get the computers sound to come pout the card? or do i have to connect the computers output to my mixer?

  Select the Kona 2 as the sound input and output device in the system preference pane and it will do all of the computer sounds too.

  As far as V-Out you can select the KONA 2 as the V-OUT of compatible apps like motion and AE and some sound programs too.

  thanx!

  i was wondering how to select the card in the prefs, and then it occurted to me that the selection was pretty simple, just highlight the choice and exit the prefs

  and now it works!
