Again Apple did a half ass job with this problem. It does now work to capture through HD SDI – no more subclip – but when I tested using the upconverter in Kona 2, the clip came in fine but the timecode was several seconds off. I captured in from a digi beta deck. At SD everything came in perfect and frame accurate. Then I switched to 720p mode using the upconverter and the time code was about 4 seconds off capturing to both DVC Pro HD and 8 bit uncompressed. I did not have an HD deck at the moment to test that. It appears to have a problem translating 29.97 TC to 59.94. Firewire captures are pefectly frame accuarate in 720p but not using serial.
