Chnage colour of object once outside of layer behind it
Hello everyone
This might be a very easy question, I do recall seeing it somewhere.
imagine this. I have a red boat, in a white star, on a red background. The star moves to the left (to simulate movement of the boat) but now, the boat is in the red background, aka invisible.
I want that boat to become white, as soon as it reaches the red. But the aprt that is still on the star, had to remain red, till it also reaches the red background.I tried googeling a lot, but simply wasn’t able to put it in the right terms.

Track matte? I though I would be able ot understand that, but I’m not. Where am I supposed ot put the ” red” boat then? because that is above the white star, but even after moving the white star, I still don’t see a difference
The white boat should also be underneath the red boat, right?I tried understanding this, but I don’t see how I can use it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoZlH6c18XA

Also smart to add maybe, is that I want two things, moving from the inside of the white star, to the red side of the background, becoming white in the process.

Try using blend modes: overall, add, and so on…
