October 24, 2005 at 5:16 pmI think most reasonable people would read that and understand that those are the software apps the product supports. Yes, it’s poorly written, but if I really don’t think people are expecting those apps to come with it.

Call it “Ad speak” and on the printed literature it does say “support for al”l of those products.
You are correct in your assumption that the Kona products do not include any 3rd Party software products as part of the purchase.Gary Adcock

yeah and my favorite example of that is those local car dealership radio ads where they read the terms and conditions at 1/10th the audio level of the main commercial where they scream out their best deals.

October 24, 2005 at 8:35 pmThey just changed it so I guess my comment had some merit if they had such a rapid response. I also understand that AJA is a great company with great people, so maybe after bring this to their attention they moved fast to change it.
Good for you AJA!

They’re nothing if not an honest company. You’ll always get the best information and best tech support from AJA. Great folks.

October 24, 2005 at 10:36 pmyou know that I had to have a smart ass comment here –
What about Apple’s FCP ad’s that would show a complete edit suite with Sony DVW-A500 Digi Beta, etc., and say “the $50,000 edit system, now $999”. Is this truth in advertising? Was anyone that viewed that ad surprised when they ordered Final Cut Pro, and only received a CD and a manual, instead of $200,000 in hardware ?
But my favorite was from an old electronics magazine, where a tech support guy repeated the comment of an irate customer. The company sold accounting software. “The box said that it was a COMPLETE accounting system for $35 – it didn’t say anything about needing a computer !!!!!”.

Please don’t take this personally but do you expect everytime you see a gasoline ad that the cars filling up are included with each $3.00 tank of gas you purchase?
You have to use some common business sense to read between the lines and understand what the manufacturer is really implying.
Based on my experience with AJA they did not nor would have intentionally mislead their customers unlike what other companies make a habit of doing.
One item the ad did not mention is the aftermarket technical support a client receives for FREE from AJA. The support alone is worth the price of the K2 and all the Apple software combined.
I personally wonder if not listing the superior aftermarket technical support can be considered misleading. Afterall if a company forgets to list one of the greatest strengths with employees such as Rudy, Clark and the rest of the staff at AJA then I do not want to deal with them at all.
Therefore I am offically requesting an immediate correction on all AJA ad’s as I have been mislead, cheated and taken advantage of because I cannot receive the same level of abuse that Sony, Apple, Avid and many other companies consider status quo.
Just my two cents worth,
Tony Salgado
