  G5 SD Ready

  I want to make my G5 SD ready but I have no idea where to start. Can anyone help?

  What do you mean “SD ready?”. It already is SD ready (and even HD ready) since it can handle all the DV formats natively. If you mean uncompressed SD, then you’re looking at an AJA Io external box or a Kona LS which is SD only. For drives, you want at least a FW800 RAID like a LaCie Big Disk Extreme or G-RAID or better yet, go for a Fibre Channel array such as the Medea FCR2X.
