  Kona2 system recommendation please..

  Hi,

  I just started working in a facility that uses a Kona2 card and breakout box for HDCAM editing. Please recommend the most reliable system configuration, our specs will follow.

  System:
  Huge Medai Vault 1.25TB
  Dual G5 (2.5)
  2.5Gigs RAM
  SONY HDW500 HDCAM Deck
  OSX 10.4.1
  FCP5
  Kona2

  Which operating system is most reliable now? Which version of FCP is most reliable now?

  You have not stated which HUGE Media Vault that you own. In my opinion, you will not be able to get reliable results unless you own the HUGE U320RX, or TWO U320 chassis, stripped across both sides of your ATTO UL4D card – IF you are dealing with uncompressed HD. If you are willing to use the DVCProHD codec (as almost 100% of my clients do) – you will have no issues.

  What HD monitor are you using ?
