  Kona2 issues w. Tiger/FCP5

  Have installed Tiger 10.4.1 & FCP5 suite as an upgrade. Kona drivers are the latest 1.1.1. X-raid driver upgraded.
  Video plays fine in soundtrack and KonaTV – but FCP5 will only play out through Kona2 with certain footage/combinations.

  FCP5 cannot play DV in a DV seq. – not DVCPro50 in DVCPro Pal seq. – not HDV 1080/50i in HDV sequence (we work in PAL).
  But it does play UC 1080/25 10bit (captured through in Kona codec) in an UC 1080/25 10bit sequence. The same HD sequence will display HDV footage that is inserted – but not any of the SD Pal clips! And yes, they all play fine through KonaTV.

  Suggestions are very welcome, as we are shooting a HD project in less than 2 weeks.

  Did you do an upgrade or a clean install of everything? So far I’ve upgraded one of my two systems and I start from scratch with each new OS. Completely erased the harddrive, installed Tiger, ran all the updates, installed FCP Studio, ran the updates, installed After Effects, ran the updates, etc…..and repeated this patter for each piece of software on the system. So far so good. But I plan to test this system out for at least a month before installing everything on my primary Kona 2 HD system.

  If you simply upgraded your OS and/or FCP, you’re bound to run into a lot of issues. Some minor, some major.
