Premiere Pro needs to relink media on second edit station (NAS)
We are a production company running several edit suites of an edit server.
The server is a thunderbolt raid system connected to a Mac Mini using Thunderbolt. The Mac Mini is connected using high speed ethernet to a switch which connects to the edit stations using gigabit ethernet. We are running the latest version of Premiere Pro on Retina 5K iMacs running the latest Mac OS. The edit suites connect as their own user individual user to the server (Edit 1, Edit 2 etc.)
Our Media and Projects live on the server.
Our preview files and media cache live on a local thunderbolt scratch disks connected to each edit suite
Our OS and software run off the iMac HDWhenever we run a project on just one edit station everything is fine. However, whenever someone tries to open that same project on another edit station (while the project isn’t open anywhere else) Premiere Pro says it cannot connect to the media. It needs to find all the files again and relink them. This also seems to remove any frame rate changes we’ve made using interpret footage.
How do we make this work seamless? We just want to be able to open a project on any of our edit stations and have the project be the same, without having to relink.
Thanks!
Vikash
