    Hi all, i have a Q, as ever.

    What do you think should be the most workless-goodlooking method, i know it’s impossible :P,
    of creating in AEF, bezier curve based charecter face which will look as close as possible as hand-drawn picture, for further animation.

    here’s my try :

    Draw some splines on a solid,
    set their mask modes to “none”
    do a “render->stroke” effect , all paths (on transparant), lower the hardness setting.
    add “stylize->roughen edges”

    tweak the roughen edges, the stroke hardness and width.

    You can also use a “render->scribble” instead of the stroke, use fill type “Centered Edge” and experiment.

    for easier animation, set different elements (eyes, mouth) on different layers that you parent to a null.

    Well , it’s the method i used, and results you can see in my post above , but if you take a closer look at strokes, they look similar but they’re different, i still can’t make aef_made stroke to be such distorted – not only edges , the way of ink lay on paper, i can’t explain it exactly in english 😉 – like original one,
    i know , many of you will say,draw it , scan it, make layers in photoshop and then animate ,

    BUT, is this the only way ?

    There is one thing i was thinking about, but i’m not sure if it is in real like i’m thinkging about it, MAYA.
    It’s much more work but maybe making low-poly face models, and use for render some custom cartoon shader will work out,
    i don’t have maya so i cant try it by myself,
    what do you think about it ?

    Alek.
