Target like Text effect

Battlefield 3, looks to be a combination of a per character position move, along with some masking, to break it up. Hard to tell but multiple layers may have been used also.
Wake Island, position/opacity + rotation and probably another mask, to make some of the text break up. Possibly multiple layers.
The second line looks like a couple of multiple layers, 3d Rotation with opacity fade up.
I made an example project with a few of the techniques. It should help you with a starting point. 7996_battlefieldfolder.zip
All those techniques can be achieved by learning how to use the text animators in AE. Check out the tutorials starting with Animating Source Text: After Effects basics tutorials by Andrew Devis
