  BRU PE Stuck at Tape Estimate

  Hey everyone, I’ve got a little bit of a pickle. I recently moved our BRU PE to a different computer so we could use the one it was previously on for other operations. The specs are: OS X 10.12.1 2.5GHz i7 with 8GB Ram rushing BRU PEO 3.1.20.
  I’m using the mLogic mTape with it which has worked fine in the past.

  Basically the program is hanging at the estimate window. I can see our library, load up tapes. The program seems to recognize that the tape is there then when I hit go it just hangs. I try to skip the estimate as well but it will sit at the next window and not do anything.

  Any thoughts out there? Has anyone experienced this before?

  The issue is related to the additional (useless?) SIP restrictions that Apple added in 10.12. We are working on the 3.1.22 update, but for now you should simply not authenticate when starting BRU PE as described on the BRU PE download page.

  Hey Tim, have there been reports of instability? I’ve had the program unexpectedly shut down 4 times during back up and verification now. Different drives and different tapes. It seems random.

  No – BRU PE’s a relatively simple GUI front-end to the BRU engine.

  Check your system logs and see if you can find entries relating to BRU PE in the crash report sections. Best of you open a ticket so so that the guys can help determine what’s going on.
