  Making letters out of lesser words

  Hey! I’m kind of new to After Effects and what not, and right now I’m working on an after movie from my trip to Roskilde. Basically what I want to do is filling out the letters in “ROSKILDE” with the band names from Roskilde. I was wondering if I have to shape up this all by myself, and in that case; how should I approach it? Or does it exist some sort of tools or addons that could help me in this process?

  I would make the word ROSKILDE using a big thick font, like Impact. Duplicate that layer and parent the top layer to the bottom one. Change the top layer’s track matte to Stencil Alpha. Now add the band names in between these two layers and they will stay within the letters.

  You might want to use one of the text animation presets to animate the way the band names enter.
