I recently installed HP store open on another machine
in the configuration tool, when I’m tryign to mape the tape I’m getting an error about HBA driver

in the machine all the drivers are updated and working fine

    OS: Windows server 2008 R2 x64
(the tape works fine with backupexec)
    LTO5 tape (HP)

anyone have an idea how to fix it?

LTFS has special requirements when it comes to hbas and can be picky. What card to do you have? What driver?

Your HBA doesn’t support I/O blocks of 512K. While raw LTFS allows you to set other block sizes when you format a tape, the HP StoreOpen app does not. Additionally, using other blocks sizes can make your LTFS volumes incompatible with other platforms’ / vendors’ LTFS configurations.

The only solution is to change your SAS HBA for a card that supports larger block sizes – we recommend ATTO Technology R680 (RAID) and H680 (non-RAID) cards even for Windows and Linux.
