BRU-PE progress bar stuck??
Would have preferred to contact support about this directly, but I’m out of the service support period. And maybe this is a known issue so someone may have a fix…
Parameters…
BRU-PE 3.0.2 build 113 BRU 18.0.0
Tandberg LTO-5 SAS external
connected to
Atto Express SAS H680 – driver – osx_drv_esashba2_210

Mercury OWC Thunderbolt PCIe
connected via TBolt to a…
MacBook Pro 9,1 15″ 2.6 GHz Intel i7
running
MacOSX 10.8.4
buffer set to 2048k. Tried with default 128k too.
‘Parse files’ disabled.Issues…
Slow estimate
In Quick Archive when we start archive it takes up to 20-30 mins to complete the ‘Estimating Backup’ stage. We are backing up about 1 to 1.3 TB of shoot files from an Alexa camera. So, typically, write to a tape…652097216 blocks (1304194432KB) written
152395 files (152084 regular, 311 other)Lots of single frame files since there are .ari frame sequences for each shot.
Progress bar stuck
Then when the archive starts, the progress bar (next to the ‘Abort job’ button) stays at the minimum and doesn’t show any progress. Even the one above seems to advance to a point and then stays there throughout.
But the archive happens fine and the verify happens fine too. And we can even restore fine. So the backup is happening correctly. Just that the progress bar doesn’t increment. So its a ‘cosmetic’ issue. This didn’t happen in OSX 10.6.8 as I remember. And I haven’t done this (backup to LTO-5) in a long time, assistants have been doing backups for me. So today I did this for the first time since months and noticed the above issues.
