LaCie D2 triple interface v3 – driver fix for new drives
Hey a quick item to file away if you have any new LaCie drives,
On the LaCie D2 triple interface drive v3 their is a driver issue I ran into. I called LaCie and got some info on it, as their is no documentation on it and a lot of people seem to be having problems. The drive will not wake from sleep, and will hang or crash a system. Their is a driver update that fixes it, although you pretty much have to call and have them talk you thru it as their is no information about it on the site and no instructions with it. Here is how they had me go through it, so I’m passing it along. This apparently is only a problem with Macs attached via Firewire. For the updater page to go to:
https://www.lacie.com/support/drivers/driver.htm?id=10248Make sure that no other drives are attached to the system, that is an important part.
Download driver, then click on the file below and not the bin files.
LaCied2QuadraFirmwareUpdater_1824It should open the terminal and then follow along. The update seems to work fine once you get to this point, and the media remained intact on the system.
I asked why more information wasn’t given and they weren’t sure. Their is also no ability to see if you have a drive that needs it or not.Hope this helps someone,
Thanks,
Jon Lewis
