  Import media from Pegasus RAID

  I’m using a Promise Pegasus 2 R8 in RAID 5 w/FCPX. When I open the Import Media window, the Pegasus RAID appears under “Cameras” instead of “Devices”. I don’t know if that is part of my problem or not, but the issue is that it takes FOREVER (like days) for FCPX to read and load the clips on the RAID (about 240,000 of them). Doesn’t FCPX build a catalog of the clips and then just read from that each time I open it, or does it have to re-read the files everytime it opens? What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

  Hi Josh,

  this is a problem concerning the FCPX forum. For your raid I would use raid6 level.
