October 14, 2013 at 10:17 amNope but we have the 16Bay Sas expanders and they are running well no issues.
Was going to get the 16bay and using the Areca card with a single external you can expand the TB one with the SAS expander ones.
now the 24 bay is out that includes a slot for a mac mini I’m just waiting for the mini’s to be updated then are going for one of those.

October 17, 2013 at 4:07 amHi Rainer
We recently purchased 2 of the 16 bay Netstore thunderbolt enclosure with the areca card and they are working quite well.
We used a MacMini with server installed to manage the sharing.
From memory I was getting around 650 read/write.Job

Job Hopeful
October 17, 2013 at 8:37 pmI thought that the enclosures were quite good value for the price. We needed the raid cards to, so that nearly doubles the price. I needed to use old drives I already had in one unit which were WD Green 2tb ones, which I know is asking for trouble but it works fine in raid 6. (After failing 3 of the drives trying to set up the array). I used 3tb WD Red Nas drives in the other unit and that worked first time.
With the lights on the front of the Netstor to display drive status it really simple to swap out a drive if you get a red light and let it rebuild, assuming you have raid6 or similar.
Hopefully soon we will get a 4 port ethernet card to install in one, but overall I am quite happy with the units.Job

October 18, 2013 at 2:20 pmHi Job,
WD greens? I’m surprised that they work at all in an array. We just use Ultrastars 3TB for our arrays and even these enterprise HD’s fail from time to time.
cheers

December 12, 2013 at 6:08 amThis is definitely my best buy so far. I tested it and it works well with all my video cards, esp my red rocket and my Da Vinci Resolve playsback in realtime. Got it from a local distributor in Singapore quite cheaply

December 13, 2013 at 7:56 amFYI: i use a macbook pro and i connect my thunderbolt chassis (NA211TB) to it.
My job requires me to edit and re-encode the RED files on set as i do my back up so that the editors can use the lower res for edit. The Netstor thunderbolt chassis allows me to do this on set because i can put the red rocket card in a small package. I don ‘t have to bring the materials back to the studio to do my work. I love this product! Check here if you need more info: https://www.netstor.com.tw/_03/03_02.php?MTEy
