  Just Shot Documentary- Need to create storage set up

  Hello,

  I am new to posting on CC, but have found is useful for years. Now I have a pretty unique situation and am in need of a professional answer. I just got back from biking for a month in Costa RIca and have a ton of footage. Here we go:

  I have 480 GB of footage on SD class 10 cards and need to back them up/ edit them. I currently have two Western Digital drives, 2 tb, and a 2 TB G-Tech set up for RAID 1. These are all full more or less from the footage before my trip. I realize that when I convert to ProRes that I am going to need 3 TB of space… at least. So how can I do this the most reliably and also the most cost efficiently? I am a college student after all.

  Any advice on actual products, RAID configurations, and anything else I need to know is much appreciated.
