  Isolate a colour and then remove it so the mask becomes transparent?

  Ok, i’m quite new to After Effects so please bare with me. I’ve searched the forum and can’t find an answer to this question. I’ve created a 3D effect in After Effects.

  The background is black. How would i go about removing just the colour black so it becomes transparent.

  I want to layer just the effects I have created over a different video, but the black background makes me unable to do so. The effect was created in plexus.

  I believe this is what you are looking for.

  

  EDIT: I posted that then I reread your post and I think I misunderstood you. You will need to press that button though. Try changing the transfer mode to Screen. You might have to bring your other video into after effects and create this on top of it. Also you might try luma key or keylight on a precomp of your effect. Plexus might also have an ‘on transparency’ button (I’ve never used Plexus).

  Just some ideas, I hope one of them works.
