Promise Sanlink 2 Utility settings
Hi all,
See Promise now have a Utility for the SanLink2. Gives a few options under settings mode: Low Latency / Server etc..Anyone had a play and found much differance ?

You not tried it Bob ? Thought you’d be itching to try new utils?
I’m gonna run a test when I get a second. Just thought others may have played with it also.

Hi Simon –
if you are running AFP you need a tuning file. If we can coordinate our schedules, I will remote into your system, and show you how to do this. I owe you anyway because of the Netstor and the Netgear 10G switches (you discovered them, not me) – so I will show you how to do this. You will get wonderful fast speeds at that point.Sonnet just gives you the tuning file, and the Sonnet Twin 10G is just as fast (and the same price) as the Promise SanLink2. I have one installed at Universal Studios Creative, and it’s terrific.

I understand what the manual says. I just don’t see much if any changes in performance.
Bob I’ll email you. I have a tweak in sysctl but I tend to get better less choppy speed tests with smb.
