I’m running an install this evening from version 2.8.2 of FibreJet to version in order to give those in the office using new Macs running Snow Leopard access to the SAN.

I’ve followed the directions provided by Commandsoft that say to power off/disconnect every user from the SAN. Run the uninstaller script from one computer, install version 4, enter upgrade key, then launch FJ to update and clear the database. (DBs created with versions prior to 3 are not compatible with those created by version 3 and up)

I’m not sure if FJ is locked, but it says “Writing empty database” and has been for about 20 minutes. The manual says this should take “a minute or so”. There’s over 40TB of storage, so would that make this process significantly longer?

It seems that FibreJet wasn’t rebuilding the database. I went into the Mac pref panel under the FiberJet settings and deleted the database. When I launch FJ, it rebuilt the database. All is well.
