Hi CreativeCOW members! First time poster and trying to learn some extra AE stuff…

I’m using the roughen edges effect on some 3D text layers but as soon as I move the camera the roughen edges effect changes on the text layer. I would like to have a non-animated roughen edges effect but no idea how to pull this of. I tried precomposing all the text layers but this doesn,t seem to work.

Is there some expression I could use to make the roughen edges stick? I have no experience with expressions though 🙂

    Thanks for any input.

    Erik,

Precomping text solves the problem … you just have to make the precomp a 3d layer and animate the camera in the main comp which contains your precomp … also make sure that your roughen edges effect is on the text layer in the precomp and not on the precomp itself ..
