CF Card Missing Footage?
I recently shot a lecture with Parts 1 and 2 and had a second cinematographer shooting b-camera on a Canon 7D. She stopped recording during the break between parts 1 and 2, and started recording again once Part 2 began. According to this person, the card space ran out midway through part two and stopped recording. She then turned the camera off, took the card out, and switched to a different card.
I am currently dumping the footage. On Card 1 (the one that ran out), there is only 14GB worth of footage, so only a little more than half of the 32GB card. Only clips from Part 1 of the lecture are there–and of the clips that are there, they all are playing perfectly fine (no weird distortion errors). Has anyone ever had anything like this happen before? Do you think it is a corrupt card? Or some sort of user error on the second cinematographer’s part?
