    Hi,

I have an old Sonnet R800 chassis running with an ATTO R380 card. It’s connected to a Mac Pro 2012 currently running OSX 10.8.5.

I had a RAID6 build with a hot spare configured for quite some time and after awhile it started to degrade constantly after a period of time.

I finally today backuped everything and deleted the entire group to start over. However, upon starting the initializing phase, all the drives seem to start out degraded. I checked the smart status on all of them and came up with two that had threshold exceeded errors. I removed them from the array and tried again with the rest but I still seem to have them initially degraded.

Is this something that will go away once I’ve initialized or is there a larger issue here? Is the threshold exceeded info mean these remaining drives are toasted? Specifially it mentioned Reallocated sector counts as the error message

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thank you, I will respond again on Monday if needed.
