  Cloud Storage Options for Professional Video?

  We are struggling with local storage on hard drives at work, 1TB fills up rather rapidly with HD.

  We have ruled out LTO tape systems until next year’s budget.
  Although I have my reservations, my super asked that I investigate Cloud storage.
  So we are talking TBs and TBs of archived raw material,
  rather than GBs.

  The questions are do any companies offer this amount of expandable storage,
  and what are the bandwidth/speed requirements for retrieval?

  Anybody have experience with these beasties?

  I recommend taking a hybrid approach where you have local storage and offsite replication for disaster recovery purposes. Data should be kept in a minimum of two places. Please take a look at the WD DL Series; comes in 4TB configuration all the way up to 24TBs before RAID. You data will be redundant and you will have the ability to grow your storage needs.
