    Hi, can i do these update to my mac pro 4,1 removing esata raid card to a usb3 and esata card without loosing my gspeed_es raid5 ?

    And, it´s possible to work the 1144E with a RR644L sataIII to hdd/ssd on the optical bay… 1 ssd system and 3 hdd in raid0

    Hi Jose,

    Thanks for your post. I do not believe the 1144U supports RAID 5, but the RR644L will. Your G-SPEED eS will require a RAID capable card. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Gene, thanks for your answer… as i supposed, raid_5 don´t work on RU_1144E.

    But does a raid0 work, JBOD ?… pcie card it´s port multiplier…

    So now in my mind it´s go sell the unit, because it´s raid features at these moment don´t make me any improvement in my workflow, and only for backup purposes i´ll go onto spare hdd´s

    I´ll go to a sataIII capable raid RR640L using internal dvd bay for 4 x 2,5″ hdd… HGST Travelstar Z7K500 500GB 7200rpm 7mm for use only with fcpX active library…

    (I´m on a mac pro 4,1)

    I believe the G-SPEED Q would be better suited for your workflow.
