  • Camera’s Parent has Zero Scale – 3D Rendering Error

Posted by Milton Lau on December 7, 2005 at 3:18 pm

    Hi All,

I am trying to render a 6 second comp that contains one 3D layers, one cameras and two lights. While rendering the mixed comp, at the 3 seconds mark (in the timeline)I receive the following error message:

After Effects error: Advanced 3D: cannot render because camera’s parent has a zero scale. (75 :: 3)

There are no keyframes in any of the layers at the time point where it gives the error and it does not give an error during RAM preview, only during file rendering.

Using AE 6.0 Professional, QT 6 on a WIndows XP system. I cannot find any indication why this is failing on file output anywhere. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Milt

Does the camera have a parent?

No, that’s why it is confusing.
