CUDA or OpenCL?
We have 5 Mac towers the old ones. We put in the GTX 680 Nvidia cards with CUDA in them for CC 2015. So far so good….encodes and renders are greatly accelerated. Had a project with lots of higher rez JPEGs and we had all kinds of issues with compiling and crashing etc….unlike any other project.
Anyone have experience with CUDA cards versus OpenCL cards? Thinking we might want to go AMD or ATI with OpenCL instead.
We have one ATI 5770 card that has less issues than the GTX 680s on a similar machine.
On two of the machines the Premier project with lots of higher rez stills (lots of pan and scan) brought the whole system down in a full crash. Haven’t seen anything like it….though we lost our power supply but we think it was the graphics card crashing bigtime.
