  • Premiere CC multicam audio sync is off when audio starts before video

    As the title describes,

When I try to sync my dslr footage with its respective externally recorded audio files in a batch, it seems to do magically well at partnering up all the correct clips and their audio files into new multicam clips.

However when I noticed that some of the multicam sequences were spot on and others were way off, I investigated and found that the audio was way off whenever the audio recorder was started before the camera.

If the camera started recording first it was synced. But if the audio recorder started first then it would just start both clips at the beginning of the sequence, as if premiere didn’t feel it had the authority to move the video clip forward in time rather than the audio.

    like this

What gives? How do I solve this?

    Thanks!
