  • CS6: OpenEXR import and buffer separation?

The CS6 documentation says that a formerly 3rd party external plugin, ProEXR, is used to utilize the extra buffers OpenEXR is capable of supporting. And is included w/CS6.

I see the EXtractoR and IDentifier plugins in the Effects menu but not the ProEXR plugin. Where is it accessed?

    Thanks.

IDentifier and EXtractoR are the ProEXR plug-ins.

I got that now. I must say that’s some of the most elliptical documentation I’ve ever seen.

I’m working w/a 3d app that exports the Shadow buffer, apparently, as just a single 8 bit buffer/layer (no color info) inside the EXR file. In the EXtractoR plugin, what do I assign to the RGB channels to use the shadow buffer as a Multiply layer in AE to implement a shadow?

And what does the “copy” parameter in the channel substitution dialog mean? Copy from the original layer?

    Thanks.
