The Cinema Camera with EF mounts offers “electronic control” of the lens. Did anyone see exactly how this works? Especially in regards to continuously incrementing the iris. The devil’s in the details. The Canon 60D’s aperture control of the EF lens is “clicky.”

As far as I am aware all EF lenses with electronic iris control have pre-set steps at which their iris can be set to. I don’t believe there’s any way to get smooth iris control with these lenses. So on the Cinema Camera too, using the iris control buttons you will see definite steps when opening and closing the iris, and the auto iris button will jump to the setting it needs instantly.
