I’m tempted to get the package.. is there a sensible (and sensibly priced) rods/mb/battery/lens solution yet?

There are so many options out there.
If you have any older DSLR gear, you can just re-jig to work with the BMC.

There are a few items I’ve bought recently, mostly prompted by the reality of the relatively larger files (in my case, primarily ProRes HQ files) I anticipate recording with my soon-to-arrive-I-hope BMCC.

I detailed them here and here, including links to suppliers.

I expect there are also items I’ll decide I need after I’ve used my BMCC for a while. Cheers.

Hi Peter question about your Hyperdeck purchase.
What exactly are you using it for in a BMCC workflow shoot?
Is it about the HD-SDI to HDMI for real-time display?

Hi Eric: Yes, my plan is to use the Hyperdeck Shuttle v.1 primarily as a HD-SDI to HDMI converter velcro-ed to the back of an AC-powered 21″ HDMI monitor. Back in May when I saw B&H was selling “old” HdS v.1 units brand-new for only $175 I snapped one up.

The fact that the HdS v.1 is also a serviceable uncompressed HD recorder is a bonus, either for use in some possible combination with the BMCC (e.g.: parallel backup), or with other cameras.

Do you think there will be some latency issues?

I’ve seen reports online that say the HdS latency is no worse and in some cases better than many popular HDMI/SDI converters. Seems promising.
