Max Depth/Maximum Render Quality for baked video and upscaling on export.
Hello,
I’m taking a video that was rendered at 720p MOV h264 and re-rendering on a Mac to ProRes at 1080p for playback on a cinema projector.
My question is A) do I necessarily need to check the Maximum Depth setting since all effects and grading are more or less baked into the existing file. B) I am upscaling from 720p to 1080p so do I need to check MRQ? My understanding is that MRQ is used for better downscaling. I haven’t seen any mention of it improving upscaling.
Normally I’d just leave them on, but the Mac is a base model and the render time with these settings off is 3 hours. With them on it is 17 hours. Deadline is tomorrow. Ha
Thanks for any insights,
Dave
