    Hello,

I am rendering MPEG2 PAL-DV all the time. TV standart.
In older versions of After Effects I did this directly from AE, but now I have to render from AME, because you know – there isn’t mpeg2 encoding anymore in AE.
I just realized that AME doesn’t render fields when rendering directly from AE composition. At the end the file is interlaced as my settings, but actually both fields are the same, so it looks like progressive.

I experimented and rendered losseless AVI with fields from AE. Then I put that AVI in AME and rendered with the exact same preset I am using for mpeg2. Everything is fine – I have different fields and looks perfect on preview monitor.

So the problem is only with AE compositions sent directly to AME.
Tried to encode to other formats with fields, same result…

I am sorry for my English, but I hope that this make sense.

I’ve tested on some machines at my work to be sure, so I’ve sent bug report to Adobe.
There are workarounds for this, but it is shame when you realize that your graphics since half year have been aired progressively.

Adobe, please bring us back Mpeg & H264 to AE or fix this 🙂
