  How to Export odd dimensions in AME.

  I’ve been asked to export some very specific dimensions for some videos at work.

  Namely: 7680 x 583 and 4320 x 1920.

  These are for some screens we’re installing and they need to be these dimensions. Obviously I’m having a bit of trouble exporting in h.264 or mov because of the limitations. I’ve been asked to make them either .mov or .mp4

  For example: I’ve created a composition in AE which is the exact pixels necessary, then I’ve tried rendering straight from AE and dragging the Comp into AME to export but the maxium width I’m allowed is 4,096 pixels.

  Does anyone know of a way to export these dimensions?

  You can’t do that frame sizes with mp4. The spec won’t allow for that:

  Level 5.2 caps out just slightly above Cinema 4K resolution (4096×2304). If you want to do those dimensions that you’ve listed you’ll need to move to a different format/codec. I think you can do it if you use Quicktime as your format (i.e. container) and chose something like Photo-JPEG, JPEG 2000, ProRes or CineForm as the codec.

  Hiya,

  You’re absolutely right, I figured it out about ten minutes ago haha! Thanks for the response. I used a ProRes codec inside a Quicktime container!
