This may seem very basic, but I’m wondering why I keep getting a message when I upload to Vimeo that says the data rate is low (just now it says 4199 kbit/s and should be at least 5000). I’m just using the preset in Encoder for Vimeo HD 1080p 29.97. Is the preset off/should I be changing things manually? Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of presets?

    thanks

Vimeo’s guidelines for 1080 content has gone up and Adobe hadn’t updated the presets. Vimeo now recommends between 10-20 Mbps instead of just 5. That’s why Vimeo is telling you you’re low:

You can create your own custom presets in AME. It’s easy and a way to ensure that you have total control over the transcode settings.
