  Encoder Running Way Too Slow

  I’m compressing a sequence out of Premiere CS6 to H.264, 640×360, very low bit rate, and for some reason Media Encoder has been taking forever lately, even with simple jobs like this one. It barely seems to be touching my processors (activity monitor shows my CPUs at 90% idle while Encoder is running). I’m guessing this might have something to do with the settings on my computer, but it’s odd since I haven’t changed anything and Media Encoder used to scream through this type of compression.

  This is slower than 32-bit Compressor speed!

  Any ideas? Much appreciated, in advance.
