  • Encoding Quality Issues Adobe Encoder 5.5 – Encodes over saturated, motion artifacts

I am trying to get the best quality for encoding files for standard definition DVD – 16:9. Workflow: made QT Ref movies in FCP – import into AME 5.5 – custom encoding for best quality – frame blending and render improvement ON – audio set at 256 – total show length 56:45 (two shows per disc) Total space taken on disc 4.2 GB

The resulting videos are more saturated and darker than master projects or QTs. Also on scenes where there is movement were are getting considerable artifacts on the edges of objects or people that move.

Tried using Apple’s Compressor, motion distortions are improved but the gamma is raised so that scenes look washed out and highlights are washed out.

Not sure what to do. Considering going to individual disc for each show and upping the encoding quality settings to improve.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
