Surround Sound issues on output
I added this to an older post but no pick ups from the orginal responders so I’ll post this as seperate:
I now have a set up for surround sound from Final Cut Pro X using a Behringer USB router to send all channels via a 5.1 surround amp. System preferences recognizes this and sends both in and out.
NEXT PROBLEM: So I can set up FCP surround project, then mix for surround sound and then I have to export. I’ve tried making a blu ray but internal FCP DVD settings will not complete the task and it stalls at 66 per cent ever time – any ideas? SHould I try for a compressor output and output sound an image? If so what settings would people advise to the n burn i toast (say?) or even the old Encore?
Because I create exhibitions I run my Pro res 4k files from Quicktime Pro 7 through a mac mini to keep quality up – So a second question is how do I route the surround sound into the quicktime pro file on output from FCPX? I’ve tried MXF and used external players live Elmedia – but the sound resolutely stays in left right and centre – but not back. I also tried Pro res in quicktime and then opened the file and went to sound properties to ckeck all channels are there – but still only front speakers plus centre works.
Any ideas to get a full surround sound (which isn’t just a stero signal faked into surround using the pro-logic set up which if I understand it correctly is just a simulated Haffler Hookup).
I possibly know just that iota too much to understand it properly. Basically Help!
