FCXML to Resolve Issues
Didn’t realize that I couldn’t export OMFs from FCX. So trying to do the workflow. I don’t want to shell out for X2Pro. The FCPXLM will not open in Logic. I get the spinning wheel of death for hours. If I try to open it in Resolve it ends up crashing.
This is driving me nuts.
Not sure if I should just purchase the Xto7 software so I can export the audio there, or just bite the bullet and get X2Pro. I’m just afraid that it’s going to crash as well.
It is a huge file. I also tried deleting all the video on X so I can just export an Xml of the audio but then it deletes all the audio. I’m newer to X and can’t get a grasp on it.

You can just send to Logic directly from FCPX.

This would indicate that either the XML is bad or there’s something wrong with your timeline or media within the timeline.
How long is it? What are the sources?

We’re talking to 2 and a half hours long.
So I’m assuming I need to cut it up into reels. The problem is FCPX with its magnetic timeline ruins all that. And also the audio needs to match the full time code.

You could duplicate the timeline to as many reels you need to make, and delete the primary timeline in sections using the backspace delete key on a full keyboard, to shift delete on a laptop/smaller keyboard.
Select the clips you want to delete in the primary. Press shift-delete, and those clips will be deleted and NOT ripple.
Also, the length should be fine, since it’s failing on two different apps, my guess is that there’s something funky going on in the timeline. If you are willing to post the XML (or hit me up offline) I can try and take a look for you.
