  stabilizing to one point

  Hey guys,

  It’s been quite a while since I’ve dusted off the video editing and i’m having a hard time finding something i want to do. I feel like it should be simple enough and probably a plugin i’m missing.

  I want to take a clip and stabilize the video to 1spot on the clip. As it moves i want it to auto keyframe the position to keep this point centered, or anchored.

  Am I crazy to think this isnt somethign that should be all that difficult? or require keyframing step by step?

  It’s very easy in Apple Motion to use the tracker to do this. Then publish or export the vid to fcpx.
  You *can* use FCPX plug-ins to stabilize footage in a general way, automatically, as in shaky footage. And you can keyframe the video x and y positions in the timeline in FCPX, but doing that by hand can become tedious and will not be as accurate as using the tracker in Motion.
