I’ve just now noticed that 23.976 timelines exported from FCPX are seen in Quicktime playback as Drop Frame timecode (even though no such thing exists). I’m preparing some short films for playback at a theater using PlaybackPro Plus on a laptop, and the correct timecode in FCPX does not match up with the timecode in PlaybackPro.

I have one set of short films that are all 24fps and a 24fps timeline exported does not have this issue.

Google suggests this has always been the case and is universal across all NLEs. Anyone know of a fix for this? I can deal with the timecode difference but it is kind of annoying.
