  FCP X Crop/Trim Handles rarely work.

  More often than not when I try to use the Crop Trim handles at the sides of the frame in the Viewer, nothing happens except a yellow horizontal and vertical line appear across the centre of the frame.

  

  The handles are locked.

  Occasionally I can get the handles to work but it is so hit and miss as to make them useless and I resort to using the sliders in the Inspector.

  This has been occurring for ages using different versions of FCP X, different Macs and different mice.

  So I don’t think my equipment or techniques are at fault especially as others have experienced the same problem.

  Some users, a few years ago, found it was caused by using the Spanish language but I am English so that particular bug was not relevant.
