  Plugins slow down FCP

  Hello, I have a new Macbook Pro, running Sierra v. 10.12.6. 16GB memory. 2.8 intel core i7 processor. I just purchased several plugins – and in trying to use the photo montage plugins, my computer comes to a virtual stand still. I should note that I am using a Lacie Porsche Design, 4TB for the project. My question is – do I need RAID storage instead? How can I increase render speeds, and actually start using these plugins? Thank you.

  Performance would depend on the number and size of the images and the performance of the plugins as much as the speed of the hard drive but they’re all interrelated. What plugins in particular are you using?
